Eider down, the most exclusive down in the world, spoils you with unsurpassable light warmth. Nature's finest filling material comes from the eider duck. As it is native to the icy coasts of the northern seas, it is adapted to a particularly harsh Klima environment. Its unique down is extremely light, large, filigree and densely knotted. The mother plucks out the down. These combine to form an exceptionally warming natural fleece, which she uses to protect her nest from the extreme temperatures. After breeding, the precious down is carefully collected by hand from the often hard-to-reach nests by licensed collectors. Each nest contains only around 18 g of down. They are meticulously cleaned by hand, carefully disinfected in a steam bath and hand-picked. 1000 downs weigh just 1 gram!
