We, Erwin Müller Versandhaus GmbH [Erwin Müller], treat all matters relating to the protection of the personal data of our customers and those interested in our offers seriously, and would like to disclose the following with regard to how we use personal data Our data protection code of practice complies with German data privacy laws and more specifically is in accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Act on Remote Media (TMG). 1. 1.1. Data which customers have disclosed to us in connection with orders made in our online shop, particularly invoice and delivery addresses and other data needed for the proper processing of orders, are needed by us to justify, implement and process our contractual obligations and are important to us for securing proper customer support in future. Such data is processed and used by us for such purposes. We use the information given to us in this respect to process orders, deliver goods and services and process payments. In order to check address and creditworthiness, we access data stored at the credit agency named below pertaining to your address and creditworthiness. This data may include information on creditworthiness which has been calculated based on mathematical and statistical scoring processes. Such data may then be disclosed by the credit agency to companies with a justifiable reason for seeking such information. Further to this, we and other service providers commissioned by us use the name and address you have given us to provide you with information about other interesting products and services from Erwin Müller, often together with information from other companies. However, we will only use your telephone number and e-mail address for such purposes with your express permission. 1.2. When we open a customer account we store the basic data you have given us (name and address) and usage data separately, assuming your permission to do so. This means you can log in with the e-mail address and password you have provided without having to re-enter all the other details. 1.3. When we commission third party service providers - i.e. to deliver goods and packages or to process payments - we make such personal information available to them as they require to fulfil their tasks. Such data may only be used as per instruction from Erwin Müller and for no other purpose. Furthermore, the third parties involved are obliged to treat such information according to this data privacy explanation and according to German law on data security. 2. Only if the customer agrees, will the e-mail address we collected together with the order be used and processed for marketing purposes, such as sending informational newsletters for advertising purposes by e-mail. Customers may at any time revoke their permission in this regard and thereby cancel such e-mails. 3. All servers automatically create and maintain so-called server logfiles which detail information data received from the browsers of individual users making requests to the server. We only retain such data for a maximum period of four weeks before having them automatically deleted, to prevent covert infiltration by third parties and attempts to commit fraud and to maintain data security. 4. This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service offered by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files which are stored on your PC and which allow your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google then uses this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about website activities for the website operator and to perform other services pertaining to website and Internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if provided for under statutory law or if third parties have been commissioned by Google to process the data. On no account will Google consolidate your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent cookies being installed on your PC by making an appropriate change to your browser settings, but we must point out that if you do so, you may be prevented from making full use of the website's functions. By using the website you give your consent to the data which has been collected about you being processed by Google in the manner described and for the purpose stated. 5. Temporary cookies are used within our "virtual shopping basket" to serve as alphanumeric identifiers. These are deleted when the browser ends the session. 6. Customers have the option of encrypting their data for transferral via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). We have taken technical and organisational measures to protect our website and related systems and thereby prevent data from being lost or destroyed and protect data from being accessed, changed or distributed by unauthorised parties. Customer accounts can only be accessed by entering the appropriate personal password. Such access information must be kept confidential. 7. Without charge, you have the right to demand information about data which has been stored and, if required, have further the right to have the data changed, blocked or deleted. We can provide information on the personal data stored by us within the scope described, particularly with regard to information on orders which customers have made. Consent that has been given to have personal data processed can be revoked at any time to be effective from then on - this can be done in writing to the following contact address.
